Would you use chemical use means to gain enhanced, and maybe even superhuman, abilities? Things like the chemical formulas that made Deathstroke, Bane, and Captain America who they are? Although, it wouldn't be to this severity; but there are ways to artificially increase your stamina, strength, intellect, and healing abilities.
What are your opinions on using these?

There are other substances that count as doping. Like phenylpiracetam, my favorite drug.

Na, I don't think they are really needed, I'm a great believer in skills over ability. I.e someone who is a little faster and stronger going up against someone trained in sprinting, cross country, parkour and various martial arts.

When these drugs are still so untested, the side effect being so varied, you have to ask is it worth it simply to outperform the average joe where a bit of training would do the same job safer and healthier

I prefer to use both together, training and enhancement. And everything I do is safe and healthy so i'm not worried about side effects

I dunno... Still think that training would give you the edge so long as you trained more than your educed opponent. the difference that performance enhancers are minimal, money spent of constant supplements would be better used in the creation of gadgets.

Gizmos and training over, drugs and training anyday

I agree with Knight-Hood.

Protein powder and a multi-vitamin are the only supplements you should mess with, IMHO.

The following would improve the areas you desire more than any supplement:

- Stamina (cardiovascular exercise)
- Strength (weight lifting)
- Intellect (reading/study)
- Healing Abilities (nutrition)

Listen up Owl,

I am going to explain this as simply as possible. Stay away from chemical enhancements period. I have attended the funerals of 10 friends so far. Was a pallbearer in 4 of them. All of them were just as sure as you are about how they could safely combine different supposedly safe drugs and exercise. One of them was studying to be a Pharmacist so he was real extra sure he knew what he was doing. Wasn’t a single blessed thing I could do about it either as they were all so dammed sure of themselves. There are so many unknowns to take into consideration that even licensed doctors and pharmacists screw it up on occasion. Take this to heart Owl or you could end up being number 11.

That would make me very sad

I will make sure to study them specifically for several more months, along with a group of doctors before I decide to take them; if I do at all.
I'll be careful, but since I can't even get a mask now pills would be out of the question financially anyway

I know I've seen some odd things here before, but this is one..... wow... Stab test that one, guys.

BTW, just to let you know, there have been multiple deaths from ODing on Vitamin E400 over the years from massive heart failure. Imagine what the synthetic crap will do.

Don't wind up trying to be a real life version of Bane when trying to do RLSH type work, dude. That could seriously backfire on you. Train, exercise, and do what you need to do....except try this route.

There are benefits and dangers in every form of personal improvement. Excessive use of a treadmill can cause premature knee and hip damage. Free weights can, even when used correctly, actually shorten the life of some tissues. Running can result in accumulated microfractures that can lead to early onset osteopathic illnesses.

Aspirin can erode the lining of your stomach. Advil can wreck your kidneys. Eye glasses can allow eye muscles to atrophy. Driving a car can lead to accidents. Turning on a light switch can get you electrocuted. Walking can lead to injurious falls. Heck, sitting very still in a padded room with no sharp objects in sight can result in being at ground zero of a meteor hit.

Just because something is "chemical" or some other media hot word, it is not necessarily a "bad" thing to be avoided at all costs. The key, as I have said before, is to be educated and able to determine if the potential rewards are worth the risks.

That being said, as someone who has looked into self-enhancement to a fairly significant degree, there are no easily available chemical supplements that, in my opinion, provide enough benefit to outweigh their risk factors. Cognitive enhancers are generally not designed for that purpose, instead being meant for conditions such as ADHD and panic disorder. In healthy subject there have been very few scientific studies and of those that have been done, there is serious debate about whether the perceived beneficial effects come from the medication itself or from the placebo effect, the expectation that it will work.

For physical enhancers such as HGH there is valid evidence to support real effect, but the potential side effects are serious and occur in an unreasonably high (my opinion again) percentage of users to justify use.

There is also the matter of resources to consider. When we look at athletes who have been found to be using an enhancer, we of course assume it was just "pop a pill" or "stick the needle" and POW! big muscles, fast legs, etc. Not true. Most of those people have a significant support structure consisting of nurses, doctors, trainers, and other specialists who can provide a regular (not a once per year physical like us, but rather once a week or even a few times a week) battery of tests and maintenance adjustments that can mitigate many potential side effects before they do serious damage, and even then some athletes do suffer serious side effects. Such medical oversight costs thousands, tens of thousand of dollars, or more and is well outside the financial resources of the average person.

On top of all of that there is the danger of the manufacturing process and sources of said enhancers. In a growing number of cases, as such chemicals become more in demand, sellers are passing off fake, re-labeled, and out of date supplements, which can be very dangerous, even fatal if the seller just wants to score some cash and doesn't care about repeat business. Without buying from a reputable source, which does not mean "Bob" down the street who's never steered you wrong when it comes to the monthly pot purchase, you run the risk of taking almost ANY kind of chemical the seller had laying around that looks good in a bottle with a fake label. Wanted HGH? Nope, you got estrogen instead. Enjoy the man-boobs and mood swings.

As time passes I have no doubt that enhancers that are both reasonably safe and offer significant benefit will become available. Probably in the next five to ten years you'll see them come into public availability and price range. But not yet.

Many people who seek out a chemical or technological enhancer are actually looking for a short cut. A magic pill that will makes grueling, tedious exercise less necessary. A shot that will neutralize the junk food intake. Lots of companies promise exactly those things, but read the fine print and you'll see that it's all bullcrap.

So in the meantime consider your current physical and mental state. Are you already as physically fit as you could be? Is your diet perfect, your metabolism perfectly managed? Or do you drink a Pepsi now and then? Neglect to work out on a regular schedule? How many hours per day do you spend playing xBox when you could be using that time on memory training or learning a second or third language?

I'm not saying you're bad if you aren't perfect. Far from it. But step back from yourself and take a good hard look. Are you so well made that the only way to improve further is to seek outside help from chemicals? I doubt anyone on these boards could make that claim. I certainly can't. Working on it... but not yet.

While training against chemical, I will tell you a true story ...

I have a friend, whom I'll call Mr. D. He owns his own business. One time he received an unwelcome visit in his establishment. A drunk guy, known criminal. This guy is getting more and more annoying, and my friend invited him to leave the area without success. Suddenly the drunk guy pulled out a bag of cocaine, and consumed in seconds. The change was impressive. Drunkenness and dizziness disappeared, his voice turned more profound, his attitude was more aggressive, and then challenge Mr. D. to threw him out.

My friend, who despite being very overweight is very fast, applied a chokehold from behind. The brain of the tough, full of cocaine and all, can not stand the lack of oxygen. He fainted.

By the way, Mr. D. served on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, as a mechanic for the F-18, during the first Gulf War. Besides the training of the navy, was college wrestling champion.

Drugs: 0, Training: 1.

Who among us is as perfect a physical specimen as was Bruce Lee? Who among us could equal him in his mastery of the martial arts? None of us.

Yet he died of cerebral edema by taking a simple over the counter anagesic called Equagesic which contains aspirin and a muscle relaxant called meprobamate. Unfortunately for him he had an allergic reaction to the meprobamate, had seizures and then died.

Thousands each year also die from allergic reactions to common anti-biotics. My point being that if one can die from such commonly taken medications, how can you consider taking experimental drugs in combination and consider it safe because "You know what you are doing?"

No you do not. You are far too young to have the degrees hanging on your wall yet to prove it. If you really knew anything about pharmaceuticals you'd stay away from them.

I am not trying to put you down of course, but I am only seriously concerned for your health if you insist on pursuing this path.

I am consulting a physician and a Psychiatrist, If I do not have experience in something I find others who do to compensate. I also read reviews of people who have tried it, test my body, and find people who have tried it while reading medical reports. I am taking every possible precaution I could aside from avoiding them altogether.

I would like to note that playing 'xbox' or videogames in general is actually thought of as a pretty good way to enhance your standard reaction time, also a lot of memory usage is required in playing most of the modern video games.

That said I only play about 3 hours a week.

I don't play many video games, although the ones I do play I try and make them something that would give me something to aspire to out of envy (like Batman or Tekken); that way I can set goals.

I find having a screaming, Menstration-crazed bitch throwing shit at you works even better at improving reaction time.
