| By the time a person became trained to the level of Batman, they would be too old to be Batman at his prime. | |

| Maybe they could be "Batman Beyond" Bruce Wayne. | |

| Perhaps not. I have a feeling immortality if not extreme longevity will become available in my life time. Human life span has doubled since not that long ago thanks to advances in medicine and technology. We can already fix heats andreplace limbs and eliminate certain diseases and now we're on the brink of an end all be all cure for cancer; any kind of cancer. A shot and a shock and your completely cancer free. It won't be long before we can fix anything in us and neutralize our aging genes and enhance our cognitive functions. Even an extremely old person who took care of their body and stayed in shape and ate healthy with the proper supplements and vitamins can be Batman as he was in his prime. Old age will soon become obsolete. |

| The batman thing wasn't really my main point but... It terms of learning new skills there is this thing floating about called the 10000 hour rule, which stipulates that it take that long to master a skill. However in actual fact gaining competency in any skill take only around 20 hours! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MgBikgcWnY watch this, it's very intresting. The point I'm making is that mastery isn't... practical. It's something born of passion for a subject. To just be able to harness a skill takes considerably less time indeed! | |

| Indeed. My passion for martial art, well mainly just Krav Maga has given my the self defense proficiency as Batman. I may not be as fancy or have as big an arsenul of moves, (in truth I only know a handful of moves; moves that I have done over, and over, and over, and over, and now are second nature.)
It's not how much you know, it's how much you can do with wha you know. One doesn't need to know that much to be scarily effective; as Bruce Lee once said "I fear not the man who has done a thousand kicks, I fear the man who has done one kick a thousand times." |

| The statement about 10,000 hours usually relates to a study that shows that it takes 10,000 hours of studying and practicing a discipline to be recognized as an "expert". You can master a skill in far less time than that. That's one problem with scientists trying to quantify what can't be quantified. | |

| The principle is what is constant, and the most necessary thing to learn; knowledge constantly changes, and can be picked up as you go along. | |

| I believe it is Stephen's group. The Tarot Group, and seeing as he's somewhat of a magician, Iassume the name is derivitive of Tarot cards sometimes used by mystics for the puposes of prognostication, or fortune telling. |
