Intermittent Fasting is a tool effective for short term fat loss. There is no added benefits such as building muscle faster, that is a myth. What it does however is make sure you don't lose muscle. So your catabolic rate doesn't go down.

Fasting does not cause fat to be released from storage to be burned in the muscles as fuel.

Quite the opposite.

The body is, always, ready to deal with famine.
So, the body holds onto fat when it senses a lack of intake.

Fasting reduces brain activity and weakens the immune system.

(Muscle is the only fat-burning tissue ).

Ketogenic probably works better, but is still a bit rough on the body.
I agree with Flora for once, cardio is king.

If your goal is to be thin, often, the brain shrinks too
