I wouldn't rely on books like that and certainly not for patrols.

And so, with an epic one-liner, we are safe again from the cancer that plagues this movement... but, for how long?

if you really want to enhance your senses just buy some hunting headphones that amplify your hearing and buy some night vision goggles.

The most sure fire way to sharpen your senses (including the sixth one even if you don't believe in it) is to figure out how to recognize each one. Telling the differences between your thought influences  and what your senses are actually picking up is paramount to  controlling them and improving them .
This may sound like a load of crap to you but meditation helps. First, you must sit in a comfortable environment that is not smothering to your standards.Keep your limbs touching one another  And let everything go till , to the point you can't even feel your body. Remember this feeling.
This is how you successfully shut out the world and start to really get into mind over matter. Practice this long enough and you'll notice that you will start to think clearer and also will be able to sense things.
