Hey guys, we just released the Summer 2016 issue our new Carpe Nocturne magazine and I wanted to share it with the community!
We are working to grow the magazine in quality, subscriptions, and strength. Please – Please, share the knowledge of it with your friends.
We are approaching our second year of ownership of the magazine… and it has been FUN! We’re a small group that has a great love for creativity, discussion, and appreciation for things that are out of the ordinary… hence, our tagline, “
OTTN” (Other Than The Norm).
Originally, the magazine was hardcore Goth. Directing it to this single demographic was not strong enough to sustain the magazine or aid it in growth. One of the first things I did when we obtained it, was sit down and ask everyone what their likes were, and what they would like to see.
It was nuts!
Our people are located all over the world, so this opened up all kinds of things I never knew about. We had some people on Skype, other chatting, some emailing back-and-forth, and few on conference calls.
We took the ensemble of likes and interests and drummed them down to four main focuses:
Fantasy
Science Fiction
Steampunk
GothFrom those, we honored the Goth foundation of our readership and approached each of these sub-cultures with a hint of Goth flavor.
We are made up of a volunteer staff located some-of-everywhere (worldwide). There aren’t a lot of us, but we have a lot of voices. This magazine is our platform and it has helped those in small places to experience the vastness of other thoughts… as well as those in large places to realize how much they have in common with those in areas often forgotten or unknown.
If you are a writer, artist, creator, or in need for advertising… we are a team seeking your presence.
We are the voice of the creative culture and we celebrate being OTTN!
