What job did you have where guns were routinely pointed at you? And most people care about continuing to live, so having a weapon that can end life trained on them is scary, no matter how coolly they can deal with it. Hollywood movies do not make gunshots seem as scary as they are in real life, and your assessment that one feels like a bee sting, to be brushed aside so casually, is dead wrong. A bullet wound of any size is a trauma. A .22 piercing your brain can still kill you. I really want to know where you got your statistics.
