| Anyone can be hungry, homeless, or otherwise. As the cold weather rolls in, some families don't have enough to eat after paying rent, heat, and utilities. While some of us are doing great work by going and doing handouts, there are still other ways we can organize and help large numbers of people. As in all things, each of us has to choose how we feel most comfortable doing outreach, either due to time constraints, available resources, or other contributing factors. What works for one of us may not necessarily work for another. One excellent program that has been helping to feed the hungry is, Food Not Bombs. Whether or not you agree with their politics, you can't argue with RESULTS. People getting fed as opposed to people going hungry, and possibly dying. We may not be in the business of politics, but we ARE in the business of saving lives. Here is a link to the, "Food Not Bombs Handbook". It shows some possible ways of organizing a group to collect, prepare, and distribute food. Use it whole stock, or pick and choose what information is most useful to you. But please, read it and consider the information contained within with an open mind. This is not an official endorsement of the , Food Not Bombs group, by the staff of RLSH.Net. This information is provided as a resource for those interested.
